Dr Simpson Perry Da Silva

Scientific-Educational Leader and Advisor with over 40 years’ experience in the fields of Agricultural and Environmental Health, Veterinary Preventative Medicine, and Sustainable Agricultural Development.  He held the post of Minister of Agriculture in 1984 and is an activist, NGO leader and lobbyist on the issue of Green Sustainable Community Development.  In 1991, Dr. DaSilva co-founded and served as the first principal of the Chad Science Academy in Newark, NJ – – the first U.S. high school dedicated to educating minority students in the sciences.  He currently serves as Assistant Director at the Community Development Council in the Ministry of Communities and Team Leader of Food and Nutrition Security, Caribbean Agri Business Association (CABA).

Dr. DaSilva holds a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the Superior Institute of Plant and Animal Sciences, Granma, Cuba and completed Post Graduate training in Food and Nutrition Security, Public Health.
