Norman Ng-A-Qui is a retired professional civil engineer who provided services in USA and Guyana in the water, mining, environmental and geotechnical sectors and in academia. Currently he is active in non-governmental organizations in Guyana, conducts research on African history and enjoys sharing his findings through presentations and displays.  He earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in civil engineering at Howard University and a Ph.D. in civil engineering at Purdue University.  Dr. Ng-A-Qui peaked when he climbed and sat on the top point of Mount Roraima in 2014.
